The Lama area is underlain by Upper Triassic Stuhini Group rocks consisting of andesite, basalt and tuff.

Samples 484811 and 484812, taken from malachite stained volcanic cliffs, yielded copper values of 0.86 and 0.60 per cent respectively (Assessment Report 21210). Sample Lama Rock-1 was taken from brecciated, silicified volcanic float, just east of the malachite-stained cliffs and assayed 0.92 per cent copper (Assessment Report 21210). It contained disseminated chalcopyrite.

The 1990 exploration program on the Lama 1 and 2 claims consisted of geological mapping, prospecting and stream sediment sampling. A total of 8 rock samples were taken.

In 2005 and 2006, Garibaldi Resources Ltd conducted greyscale, hillshade topographic analysis on their Stikine claims (Assessment Report 28494). In 2006, Garibaldi conducted an airborne magnetic survey over 123.4 kilometres on their Stikine claims. (Assessment Report 29055).
